Muscular Therapy for Human and Equine Athletes
At Jump Start, you can gain pain free movement! With technique and feel for the soft tissues and limitations of the joints in horses and riders, a massage with Doris will improve mobility . A gradual increase in pressure is experienced by the client on the muscles. Ultimately, realignment of the soft tissue corrects the muscles so they can efficiently move the body with out stress or strain.
The goal is to get the tissues to return to their normal resting length. If they are over-stretched and ischemic, I will get those muscle fibers firing so the muscle and fascia, contract back to their normal resting length. Muscles may also have tight bands and/or adhesiveness that can be worked out, released and rebalanced.
The Client participates in their own process by doing there exercise program, joint mobility and stretching. The client home self-care program, is an important part of recovering and reducing injury.
Jumps Start Sports Massage is all about being a part of the PIT CREW TEAM that keeps horses and riders going STRONG! With all the team members in place providing routine care, athletes achieve their goals and maintain healthy mobile bodies. Your team includes massage therapist, trainers, nutritionist, chiropractic, physician, veterinarian, farrier.

Treatments for horses and riders
Sports Massage is a technique that I use to stimulate circulation and loosen up muscle fibers so the athlete is spending less time and energy in warm-ups, and more time getting in their zone for peak performance. Your horse will be more fluid and relaxed.
Post Workout Recovery Massage is important for reducing recovery time. This also decreases injuries, because, when a muscle is returned to its resting state, it is less likely to become hyper contractile, which would result in a muscular pull, or strain during work the next time. This also helps the toxins in the tissues to resolve much quicker, reducing soreness and improving circulation.
Fascial Stretching is an important aspect of massage. As fascia covers every organ, muscle and tendon in the body. When this gets injured the locomotion of the client is compromised.
Postural Balancing is facilitated by releasing contracted muscles, tendons and fascia. Once those tissues are in a resting state, the over stretched ischemic tissues opposing those tissues can be reactivated and brought back into balance. If the muscles continue to be adhesive, contractile and/or overstretched, the client will continue to experience the same chronic issues.
Human Efficiency:
Breathing Technique is another area that I enjoy educating my clients on. We all breath, but how effectively? When we "breathe with purpose" our bodies respond in a profound physiological relaxed manner. Breathe work can enhance performance in riders, and athletes of all disciplines.
Self Care Education. Your massage will have longer lasting effects when you take part in your own wellness. This includes, stretching, strengthening, diet, and of course drinking LOT'S OF WATER.
Supplementation for humans
Univera nutritional supplements. This are fantastic products for boosting energy, maintaining a healthy balance, and reducing recovery time. You can order online using my Associate Number 1362481. Please call or visit me, for more information on which product may be best for your body.
